The Job Interview

Mark: Wow! This is a very nice office.

Boss: Thank you. Please sit down.

Mark: Thank you.

Boss: I understand that you are interested in the position in our Sales and Marketing Department?

Mark: Yes, I think I could do a very good job. I think I would enjoy being a salesman.

Boss: How did you find out about this job?

Mark: I read about it in the Classified Ads in the newspaper.

Boss: Your resume says that you graduated from the university with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Business and Chemistry.

Mark: Yes. I also graduated with a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.

Boss: That’s very good, but for this job, you need to know about marketing.

Mark: No problen. I have had many courses in Marketing.

Boss: Do you have your transcript with you?

Mark: Yes. I have copies of both my Bachelor’s Degree and my Master’s Degree transcripts.

Boss: O.K. Great, O.K. Thank you. Tell me about your past work experience.

Mark: Well, I worked for 6 months delivering pizzas when I was in university.

Boss: That’s very good, but for this job, you need to know about marketing. Tell me about your experience in business.

Mark: Oh! Well. When I studied at the university, I worked part-time as a sales clerk.

Boss: So you have exprience in sales.

Mark: Yes. I also worked for 2 years in a chemical company in town in the Marketing Department.

Boss: Did you enjoy that job?

Mark: Yes. I enjoyed it very much.

Boss: Well, ì you work here, I will be your employer. I’m sure you will enjoy working here also.

Mark: Thank you.

Boss: Mark, I think you have the qualifications for this job. I would like to welcome you to the company.

Mark: Really? Great!! Thanks a lot, Mr. Wilson. I promise to be the best employee you have.
