Answerielts speaking topics games

I think the most popular games, especially among young people are online games and video games, without doubt. Young people in my country aren’t really that interested in most of the traditional games, although we may play some board games sometimes with our families. Console games and online gaming are a big thing because it’s cold where we live for many months every year so we spend a lot of time inside at home or with friends, and gaming is good fun. Yes, some of my favourites are Final Fantasy and Medal of Honor because I used to play them a lot.

I play them because I like the interaction and the intensity of it – it’s more interesting than watching TV or other activities. If I didn’t have to do anything else, I’m sure I could spend all day gaming. In general, as kids we learn to do all sorts of things. Some of us learn to game, others learn to play soccer or other sports. I started playing games with my older brother when we were both younger, then I had some friends at school who also played and right through university I always found other people who played the same games as me.

Of course with multi-player online games you meet players from all over the world and we all learn from each other. Is it important? If you like playing them, then yes. If you don’t like them, then no. I mean it’s not like going to school or learning to drive a car and other things like that which are important in life for your future and to make life easier. There are many people who live without playing games, it’s a personal thing, like a hobby or interest, but it’s not important in the sense that everyone needs to do it. My parents never did.
