One Vowel

one-syllable-one-vowel

English vowels are “a, e, i, o, u”. But in pronunciation, the sounds of the vowels are different.

Every syllable in English must contain at least one vowel. We have short and long vowels, and of course, each syllable has one vowel only.

Click on the picture, hear the sound and repeat. The short vowels have red brown frames and long vowels have yellow frames.

You have to allow Flash to see the vowels
