Listen to the conversation between Ryan and Mike. What happened to Tony last week?

 

TonyHello.
BillHi, Tony. It’s Bill.
TonyHi, Bill. How are you?
BillI’m fine, thanks. Did you have a good weekend?
TonyNo, I didn’t. I had an accident on Saturday morning. I fell off a ladder.
BillOff a ladder? Did you hurt yourself?
TonyYes. I hurt my ankle.
BillWhere did it happen?
TonyIn the garden.
BillWhat did you do? Did you go to the hospital?
TonyYes, well, luckily, my wife was in and she took me to hospital in the car.
BillThat’s good. What did they do at the hospital?
TonyThe doctor looked at it, and I had an x-ray.
BillIs it OK?
TonyWell, it isn’t broken, but it’s very painful.
BillCan you walk?
TonyYes, I can, but I can’t drive.
BillOh, dear. Well. I hope it’s OK soon. Anyway, I suppose you don’t want to play tennis tomorrow then.

accident (n)
An unexpected and undesirable event, especially one resulting in damage or harm.

ladder (n)

hurt (v)

  1. What happened last week is that Bill called Tony asking how he was doing and looking for information to see if he could come play tennis the next day. but after asking how he was he realized that Tony had an accident falling down the stairs and had sprained his ankle of some kind.
